Teaching Music

I was most recently a music teacher at the Gifft Hill school in St. John, USVI, as well as an instructor at the St. John School of the Arts. Working privately and with groups I teach piano, violin, guitar, vocals, and banjo. Before relocating to the Virgin Islands I worked as a bandleader and private instructor at Lakehouse Music Academy, in the musically historic town of Asbury Park, NJ. Previously, I taught private lessons in New York City .

If interested in learning Banjo, Guitar, Singing, Piano, or Fiddle, send an email for rates and any other questions. I have experience teaching private lessons to ages ranging from 6-80. There’s no wrong age to learn music!

I speak fluent English and Spanish and intermediate French. Classes are available via Zoom or Skype.

Instruments I teach

I teach multiple Instruments over different skill-levels. All instruments I teach I also play.

  • Whether you want the basics of guitar skills or advanced travis-picking techniques, I can help you with my more than 25 years of playing.

    More Information

  • We can look at music theory, sight-reading, jazz, composing – piano is the ultimate instrument for learning music in general.

    More Information

  • Whats better than a banjo? Nothing. If you’ve already got a banjo and a front porch, you’re halfway there. We can learn overhand (clawhammer, frailing, thumping . . .) or fingerpicking styles.

    More Information

  • Mainly focused on Irish styles, my studies with master-fiddler Kevin Burke have taken me through the basics of the violin, and into the world of traditional fiddle music – both American and Irish.

    More Information

  • I was a singer before I picked up any other instrument. Originally working in rock, I then moved into musical theater, folk, country just to name a few. Having worked through a vocal rehabilitation, my own journey with vocals serves as an asset while teaching others.
